Guidance for glampers and FAQs
What should I bring?
Bring comfy footwear, and wellies in case of wet weather. It's advisable to bring clothing you can layer up in the event of changeable weather. Bring plenty of sun cream, and perhaps a sun hat. Toiletries and a battery operated torch for any nocturnal visits to the bathroom.
Bring food and drink.
Bring any specialist equipment for activities you plan on doing. Cycle hire, Kayak hire and SUP hire are all available locally, it is advisable to book these in advance of your stay.
What's included in our stay?
Use of the site and facilities. The accommodation will be set up with all the bedding, cutlery and crockery you will need. There is equipment in our outdoor kitchen to rustle up a simple supper or a fantastic fry up on the gas stove. Yeoman has an indoor kitchen corner with an induction hob, sink, and hot and cold running water. There is a BBQ with cooking utensils and a supply of charcoal. You will be given the basics to brew up a cup of tea or coffee too!
There is a camp fire with logs supplied. We can also light the fire for you on request.
There are hot showers and flushing toilets in the cabin.
There is plenty of space to explore and ramble around. Help yourself to the hammock!
Camp Rules
Booking implies understanding and acceptance of the following rules
No pets are allowed on site.
Noise at night must be kept to a minimum. Strictly no noise after 10pm. No amplified music allowed. Noise travels quite a way in the countryside and we ask you to respect our neighbour’s peace and quiet. If you cause a disturbance, and continue to do so after being asked by us to stop, we reserve the right to ask you to leave.
Please follow the countryside code. Shut any gates you go through. Avoid causing distress to any livestock, pets or wildlife.
Strictly no fireworks, balloons or sky lanterns.
There is a strict no smoking policy around the premises.
Forest Edge takes no responsibility for the loss or damage of any personal belongings brought on to site.
Fires are only permitted in fire pits. please do not move fire pits from the location you find them in.
Under no circumstances should any fires or open flames be taken into, or lit within 6 meters of the tents, or inside the tents.
Please keep BBQs and fires to a sensible size, not allowing them to get too large for the fire pit or BBQ.
Children must be supervised at all times when BBQs or fire pits are lit.
Only wood and charcoal provided can be used on the BBQs or fire pits.
Please do not climb any trees on site. Most are very old.
Please do not enter any of the ponds. All our ponds on site are natural wildlife ponds with deep mud bottoms.
Please do not enter any of the farm buildings.
Please do not feed any of our animals, domesticated or wild! If you would like to meet any of the animals please just ask and we will arrange this with you.
Forest Edge is a lovely environment for children, however, please remember that they are your responsibility at all times and must be fully supervised. We ask you to take particular care of them around the ponds, trees, animals, farm buildings and any naked flames. We feel that this camp is best suited to children over the age of 8 years old.
Cancellation Policies
Forest Edge Ltd are not liable for refunds or any expenses you incur in the event we are prevented from fulfilling your booking due to COVID 19, or any issue caused by, or related to, COVID 19 so please ensure you have adequate travel insurance in place.
If you have to cancel due to COVID 19 it may be possible to reschedule your booking, or roll it over to next year so please contact as soon as possible.
In the event of forecast high winds and extreme weather events we may have to cancel your booking. This is for your own safety. In the event of cancellation due to a weather event you are entitled to choose to reschedule your booking, or to a full refund. In the event that part of your booking is cancelled due to a weather event (ie; 1 day cancelled of a 3 night stay) you may reschedule or be refunded for the cancelled day only.
In the event that you have to cancel your stay with us please endeavour to give us 14 days notice. We will attempt to reschedule your booking to a mutually agreeable date. Cancellations made with less than 14 days notice will be liable to pay 25% of the booking fee. Cancellations made with less than 10 days notice will be liable to pay 50% of the booking fee. Cancellations made with less than 7 days notice will be liable to pay 100% of the booking fee.
In the event of a force majeure (including, but not limited to, terrorism, war, civil unrest, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics, pandemics, health risks, or similar events.) Forest Edge Ltd are not liable for refunds or expenses you incur if we are prevented from fulfilling your booking. We will always try to reschedule your holiday where possible. We recommend that you have adequate holiday insurance to cover these eventualities.
